Pastor Brian Liechty
Pastor Brian Liechty has been in children’s ministry since 1988. In January of 1991, Brian resigned his five and a half year position as Band Director of Buffalo ISD and started serving as full time Children’s Pastor at the Upper Room Church in Buffalo, Texas. He pioneered the church’s first children’s church and developed a strong children’s ministry reaching children Birth through 5th Grade. As a result of his obedience to the call of God on his life, many children and families have realized the fullness of God through Salvation, Baptism in the Holy Spirit and devoting their lives to His service.
After serving in Watkinsville, Georgia at New Hearts Christian Center and Beaumont, Texas at Praise Christian Center; Pastor Brian and his family moved to Killeen, Texas in November of 2004 and are proud to call Grace Christian Center their home. Here, he oversees a thriving ministry of over 900 children ages birth through 5th grade and leads a ministry team of over 200 dedicated and faithful volunteers. It is his honor to serve under our Senior Pastors Terry and Jan Whitley, where their vision is that children are not considered the church of tomorrow, but the church of today.
Pastor Sharon Liechty
Pastor Sharon Liechty has been involved in children’s ministry for most of her life. At age seven, her family and another family started a puppet ministry where she first got her start in ministering to children at schools, churches, community events, etc. Through the years she was active in many areas of ministry from volunteering in the nursery, puppet skits, singing, drama, etc. In 1988, at the Upper Room Church in Buffalo, Texas, Sharon her husband Brian Liechty pioneered the church’s first children’s church. Over the next few years they developed their skills in children’s ministry and in January of 1991 began to serve as full time Children’s Pastors.

Here, Sharon helps her husband oversee a thriving children’s ministry. It is her passion for children and their families to know God and His Word and experience the power of His presence in every area of their lives.
